Deposit & Refund Policy

At AW Mini Ranch, every animal is raised with care and commitment. Because of the time, feed, and resources involved, we use deposits to reserve animals and ensure serious buyers.

Deposits

A deposit is required to reserve any animal.
Deposits are non-refundable unless otherwise stated in writing.
Deposits are applied toward the final purchase price.
Animals are not considered sold until a deposit is received.

Texas-Specific Terms

All sales are conducted in the State of Texas and governed by Texas law.
Deposits are considered a good faith payment to secure livestock and may be retained by the seller if the buyer fails to complete the purchase.
In accordance with Texas agricultural and private sale practices, livestock are sold “as-is” with no warranties expressed or implied, including but not limited to merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Ownership and risk of loss transfer at the time of:
- Physical pickup of the animal, or
- Delivery to a processor as arranged by the buyer

Why Deposits Are Non-Refundable

When you place a deposit:

That animal is taken off the market
We begin planning feed, care, and/or processing based on your commitment
We may turn away other interested buyers

Because of this, deposits secure your spot and protect our small family operation.

Purchase Options & How Deposits Apply

1. Take Home (Live Animal)

Deposit holds the animal for pickup
Balance is due at pickup
If not picked up within the agreed timeframe, the deposit may be forfeited and the animal may be resold

2. Ranch Feed-Out (You Arrange Processing)

Deposit secures your animal and feeding slot
Feed costs and timeline will be agreed upon in advance
Deposit goes toward total cost
If canceled after feed-out has begun, deposit is forfeited

3. Ranch Feed-Out + Processor Delivery

Deposit secures your animal, feeding, and processor scheduling
Final cost will include feed; processing fees are typically paid directly to the processor
If canceled after scheduling or feed-out begins, deposit is forfeited

Refund Exceptions

Refunds may be considered only if:

The animal becomes unavailable due to health or unforeseen circumstances on our end
We are unable to fulfill your order as agreed

In these cases, you may choose:

A full refund of your deposit
or
Transfer your deposit to another available animal

Payment Terms

Remaining balances must be paid before:
- Animal pickup
- Delivery to processor
We reserve the right to withhold transfer or delivery until full payment is received

We understand life happens. If something changes:

8. Farm Animal Activity Warning (Texas Law)
Under Texas Civil Practice & Remedies Code, Chapter 87:
A farm animal professional is not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant in farm animal activities resulting from the inherent risks of farm animal activities.
